2. key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code)3. Multiply by 804. Add 15. Multiply by 2506. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again8. Subtract 2509. Divide number by 2Do you recognize the answer?

Numbers are infinately manipulatable.
Using factoring, you'll see you are multiplying our first three digits by 10000 (putting them in their proper place) then having us put in our last 4 digits.
It seems to me that it would've been quicker just to type my number into the calculator to start than go through those motions...I don't often multiply by 4, add 8, divide by 4 then subtract 2 when coming up with a number.
